Senior Management

Title: Senior Vice President, Account Service 
Location: San Francisco

A technology PR firm with both B2B and consumer tech clients is searching for a Senior Vice President to play a key role in the development and growth of clients and the agency. The Senior Vice President will play an important leadership role in the development of staff, client service standards, and service offerings, working closely with senior management to outline the vision and strategic direction of the agency. This is an excellent role for an account person who enjoys business development.

Responsibilities include:

Client Relations
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients at senior level, working as a
trusted advisor and partner to develop impactful business solutions
• Architect and guide client contracts and business plans
• Responsible for the overall leadership, strategy and direction of clients
• Partner with clients to craft their unique stories by building brands that are relevant
and resonate with audiences they need to reach and mobilize.
• Oversee the development and execution of communications programs across all
public relations, including major media focus, new products, and influencer marketing; build great brand experiences on and off line

Agency leadership
• Actively improve agency process
• Provide strategic counsel, guidance and leadership to staff
• Attract top talent to the agency, coach, motivate and retain staff
• Manage cross-functional teams, including creative, influencers, media strategists and
paid media
• Ability to create and lead a sector, practice or business unit
• Lead teams and collaborate with Leadership Team to develop and execute against
client business plans and client relationship development plans
• Ensure metrics are achieved
• Have a deep subject matter expertise (consumer, technology, etc.) and take
responsibility for training other staff in these areas

New Business
• Grow scope and budget for existing business
• Lead new business pitches with prospective clients
• Proactively pursue, vet and pitch prospective clients
• Work with executive team to define the agency’s approach to vetting and pursuing
new business leads with the goal of increasing new business pipeline and fostering an
agency community and culture of new business development

Requirements include:

More than twelve years marketing and communications experience; minimum 5 years in an agency
Strong technology experience
Seven to nine years direct experience supervising individuals and managing teams
Strong ability to model projects, resources, and map to revenue
Ability to quickly develop an understanding of complex products, services and
solutions
Robust industry knowledge
Excellent writing and editing skills

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of skills in consulting, strategic design thinking, user and data research, information architecture and interaction design to create compelling experiences for the customers of the company’s clients. Requirements include:

Ten to fifteen years of agency experience, working on 2-3 enterprise level clients and engagements
• Experience designing across multiple sectors (financial services and health care) and devices (Desktop, Tablet, Mobile)
• Experience with both web and apps
• Prior agency and client-facing work experience is preferred
• Master’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required
• Progressive experience in UX Design, information architecture and/or interaction design
• Ability to articulate digital strategy concepts to a range of audiences
• Best-in-class client-facing skills, including a passion for presenting and selling your design thinking to a room of clients
• Proficient to expert in latest tools: Axure, Omnigraffle, Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketch, Invision Visio, Keynote
• Solid knowledge of latest technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other key web technologies

A rapidly growing boutique UX agency is searching for a VP of Business Development (BD) with a proven track record of selling large-scale digital engagements and outperforming sales goals. The agency has a client roster which spans both B2B and B2C brands and has a particular depth of experience in Financial Services, Technology, Healthcare and Clean Energy across the US. The VP, BD role is critical to the ongoing success and growth of the agency and reports directly to the CEO.

The ideal candidate will be a natural ‘hunter’ looking to bring existing relationships to the agency and to develop new alliances with the right brands. Most importantly, s/he will articulate the agency’s story and the value it brings to every engagement.

The VP, BD will be responsible for qualifying inbound leads as well as proactively identifying targeted key client opportunities to pursue from acquisition to pitch and procurement. S/he will take responsibility for formulating high-level client solutions with an approach to scope and deliverables— all backed by a smart and talented engagement team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Set direction and approach to ongoing sales activities—both inbound lead generation and proactive acquisition targeting
  • Qualify, vet and follow-through on new opportunities from lead to signed contract
  • Network and build strong prospective client relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for key decision-makers
  • Mobilize the appropriate internal team to support the proposal and pitch process and ensure they are briefed and organized to address the needs of new clients through proper strategic approach, scoping and estimating
  • Develop well-crafted pitch platforms, proposals and SOWs that inspire, influence and convert
  • Tell the agency’s story in a compelling, mission-driven manner and represent the agency at industry and marketing events

Requirements include:

  • 10+ years’ experience growing business within a digital, integrated or traditional agency environment; previous consulting experience highly desired
  • B.A. or B.S. degree; MBA a plus
  • Proven experience closing multi-year client engagements 
  • Ability to plan and manage at both strategic and tactical levels
  • Background developing and implementing sales strategies that have consistently met or exceeded planned objectives

• Design and lead delivery management capability, relevant training for internal, client, and vendor teams, as required; coordinate professional development for staff

• Be responsible for all deliverables to the client including the aspect of time, deliverable definition and development and quality assurance

Requirements:
10+ years of progressive project management experience, including team management
