Title: Director of Product Marketing 
Location: SF Bay Area/East Bay

The manufacturer of a groundbreaking safety device is seeking a Director of Product Marketing to join its Benchmark-backed company. The Director of Product Marketing will report directly to the CEO and collaborate closely with the product management team.  The company places a high value on those who thrive as team players, enjoy mentoring, and who are committed to contributing to its inclusive high-performance culture.

Responsibilities include:

• Understand the market with deep insights into the target buyer’s acquisition cycle
• Develop market intelligence that drives strategic marketing and demand-generation activities
• Help to define the go-to-market strategy including the strategy and execution for the upcoming commercial launch of the company’s marijuana breathalyzer
• Create and evolve product and corporate messaging, product positioning, product messaging, and competitive differentiation as the company transitions from product testing to a commercially available product
• Engage with cross-functional teams to influence pricing, packaging, and product design as the expert on the target audience and the competition
• Evolve thought leadership materials to define the market and educate target markets including legislators
• Equip sales team with the necessary sales tools (videos, web site, white papers, presentations, data sheets, case studies, web resources, etc.) to effectively position, demonstrate, and sell the marijuana breathalyzer
• Partner with cross-functional teams to drive business results and meet targets
• Manage team and contractors to execute strategies related to product launches, sales enablement, and all related product marketing activities
• Mentor team members so they excel in assigned roles and are clear on deliverables and their contributions to the overall success of the product and the company
• Build processes to ensure use of Salesforce and customer relationship tool is institutionalized and utilized to support the sales cycle and reporting and customer support

Requirements include:

10+ years of professional experience with a track record of bringing products to market
Extremely articulate with the ability to clearly communicate complicated concepts to media, customers, and internal stakeholders
Excellent design and production aesthetics across a range of communication tools – web, product collateral, presentations, video, etc.
Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to create presentation decks from concept to completion
Experience managing and building a team with a strong interest in the success of all team members and co-workers
Enjoy the challenges and opportunities of a fast growing startup environment with a willingness to execute as well as strategize
Desire for continuous improvement and a sense of urgency to get things done on time
Intellectual prowess and cognitive flexibility to solve problems in creative and practical ways
Strong work ethic, initiative, and drive
Facility with Excel and basic financial modeling
Prior experience with Salesforce.com, Salesforce IQ, or another CRM tool
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. MBA preferred
U.S. work authorization required

• Experienced across all facets of demand generation - SEO, SEM, Content, Social, Email
• Strong ability to analyze results of activities and derive actionable insights
• A demonstrated track record of success
• Exceptional communications skills, including writing for outbound efforts
• Solid understanding of marketing technology systems and processes
• Comfort with the startup environment
• You’ve launched a new product category
• Proficiency with Google Analytics a plus
• Proficiency with HubSpot a plus
