Title: Director, Strategy and Business Development
Location:
SF Bay Area (just south of San Francisco)

A growing, stable consumer e-commerce site is searching for a Director, Strategy and Business Development to drive its continued growth. The Director will manage critically important partnerships and business development deals; handle strategic analyses and recommend new business and markets to the executive team; and provide leadership in M&A transactions, diligence or integration.

Reporting to the SVP of Business and Corporate Development, the successful candidate will be part of the senior staff and, in the long term, will display general management potential, to take on running a product, service or business line the company may acquire or develop. This position offers the unique opportunity to make an immediate and substantial impact to the organization as a strategic thought leader in the company.

The position is open due to a promotion.

Responsibilities:
• Acquire new customers by identifying and developing strategic business development opportunities
• Lead or assist internal teams with third-party negotiations
• Drive strategic analyses and recommend new business opportunities and markets
• Lead and program-manage corporate strategic opportunities across the company
• Serve as a key member of the Corporate Development team on M&A opportunities, including due diligence and integration

Requirements:
• More than ten years of professional experience
• M.B.A. degree from a top-tier school
• A background that includes a business-development role in a consumer-facing company, preferably at an Internet or e-commerce company
• Two to four years of strategy consulting
• M&A preferred and/or P&L or line-function responsibilities
• Solid project and process-management skills
• A results-oriented business development leader and strategy leader who strives for excellence
• An ROI-focused leader and fact-based decision maker with strategic agility and keen problem-solving skills
• Ability to influence and work cross-functionally internally and with external partners
• A self-directed professional who excels in a fast-paced, analytical environment and thrives in a company and industry undergoing significant growth

Title: Online Ad Sales Manager
Location:
New York, Chicago or San Francisco (three roles)

Be a part of an exciting website that changes the way parents obtain pertinent information about schools for children! This role has excellent earning potential with a solid base compensation and may be based in any of the three locations (or one each in New York, San Francisco and Chicago).

An education-oriented site based in San Francisco is searching for a motivated, professional Online Advertising Sales Manager to champion the nationšs fastest growing website for parents of K-12 students. The Ad Sales Manager will sell online advertising and custom integrations; identify, close and manage advertising partners; and work with the online ad sales team to develop unique ad vehicles and programs that build value for the association's partners.

The Online Ad Sales Manager will work toward expanding a successful online advertising business and will help drive and support the continued growth of this business, whose clients include large, well-known retailers and organizations.

The ideal candidate will be someone who excels at building partnerships and creative packages; have a strong background in online ad sales; exceptional selling skills; and a proven record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.

Responsibilities:
• Identify and initiate contact with advertising prospects, through cold calls, in-person presentations and/or leveraging of existing contact lists
Assess customer needs; develop effective sales proposals; negotiate deals; and ensure successful delivery of advertising campaigns
• Manage all communications, scheduling and approvals between the client/agency and operations team throughout the implementation process
• Maintain accounts and deliver superior customer service for multiple clients
• Develop campaign performance summaries for clients

Requirements:
• More than five years of combined related ad sales experience (print, radio, broadcast, etc.), with more than three years of online ad sales experience
Bachelor's degree
• Strong track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail, highly organized and flexible
• Superior written and oral communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple priorities
• Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, Word and the Web
• Experience working in a small business or a start-up environment
• Working knowledge of third-party research tools, such as MediaMetrix and Nielsen @Plan
• Knowledge of business and advertising trends plus the ability to translate this knowledge into advertising solutions for clients
• Solid understanding of online advertising and marketing, including CPM, CPC, CPA, CPL pricing structures and media types, including banners, box ads and email newsletters
• Positive work ethic and ability to exercise mature judgment
• Ability to work independently, set priorities and meet deadlines
• Preference for a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
• Ad agency experience highly desirable
